Backpacking in South America

Big cities,  mountains, ancient temples, rain forest you can find it all in South America. There are lots of choices for the backpackers from cheap hostels till cheap street side food. As not all cities are completely safe make sure to travel by officially  registered taxi’s. In most countries there are point to point buses and a rail network which can save you some money.

So what do you need to know

Make sure you be informed about any entry visa’s. Most countries will give you a visa upon arrival. But always check the up to date information for your own country.

Make sure your passport is valid at least 6 months and that you are holding a return ticket.

As there are some really remote area’s and a lot of them are with in the rain forest always check on local health regulations. In some countries they have very poor health care which also can be really expensive.
